Nostradamus
the tour de bouq
Quatrain 1/28
La Tour de Bouq craindra fuste Barbare,
Un temps, long temps apres Barque Hesperique,
Bestial, gens meubles tous deux feront grand tare,
Taurus & Libra, quelle mortelle pique?
The Tower of BOUQ will fear the barbarian fleet for a time,
then much later the Western fleet.
Cattle, people, possessions, all will be quite lost.
What a deadly combat in Taurus and Libra.
The word bouquet means bunch or group and was originally used in connection with a strand of trees; the name Marseille (or Massilia as the Romans called it) means mass or lump and refers to the limestone outcrop on which the Catholic basilica of Notre-Dame de la Garde (Our Lady of the Guard) now stands.
Construction of the basilica began in 1853 and lasted for over forty years. The project began as an enlargement of the medieval chapel on the site but was transformed into an entirely new structure at the request of Father Bernard, the chaplain. Today, the basilica is the best known symbol of Marseille.
During the French Revolution, a silver statue of the Virgin, made in 1661, was melted down. In 1807, Joseph Escaramagne acquired an 18th century statue of the Virgin and child from a monastery of the Picpus Fathers. After the scepter held by the virgin was replaced by a bouquet of flowers, Escaramange gave it to the church. When a new silver statue was created in 1837, Escaramagne’s statue, known as the ‘Virgin of the bouquet’, was given to the Montrieux charterhouse. It was returned to the basilica in 1979 and is currently displayed on the altar of the crypt.

The Tower of Bouq is a volcano that will emerge near the mouth of the Rhone. Nostradamus is suggesting that just as Notre-Dame de la Garde stands watch over the city of Marseille, the Tower stands guard over the Rhone.
Nostradamus sees two great battles about two years after the start of WWIII. The Iranian and Libyan armies (the barbarians) win the first encounter in late April or May. In September or October, the Western armies counter-attack and emerge victorious.

Once again, the name used by Nostradamus can be transformed into a hidden message by moving the letters one or three places. The Tower has a long association with Nostradamus’ half-pig man, also known as Zopyrus, a character from the Histories of Herodotus.
A very interesting and detailed quatrain that is probably related to 5/57.
